SLSRC September 24th Meeting IN-PERSON Program: John Nebl (N9MYC) Presenting at a STEM Event

September 22, 2021…

John Nebl (N9MYC) will be presenting at our September 24th SLSRC General meeting. He will be discussing with us his recent interaction with the younger generation and the wonders of Amateur Radio at a Scouting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) event.

John was licensed in 1991. He is currently the Emergency Management Coordinator for Illinois. John enjoys DX and contesting. He says that there are two contacts that still excite him:  he worked Amundsen-Scott base on the South Pole and a Russian Cosmonaut on the International Space Station with 50 watts and a J-pole. John is one of those lucky folks who get to “play radio” at work.

John is going to give us some insight into working a STEM event and getting kids excited about Amateur Radio. He will also tell us about his recent adventure of doing the STEM event at the College of DuPage in Illinois.

You will need to go to the main hospital building for screening before being allowed into the Goldfarb School of Nursing. Please allow extra time.
