SLSRC August 2017 Meeting-Speaker, John Yodis (K2VV) on HF DXing Tips and Hints

SLSRC is honored to have John Yodis (K2VV) of the Mississippi Valley DX Club
as our presenter for the August meeting. John’s presentation will be a
compilation of facts and hints about HF DXing that you won’t find in the license
manual. It’s meant to make relatively new hams more comfortable on HF, taking
away the intimidation factor.

John’s home QTH and current contest QTH is a 5 acre lot in Lincoln County,
Missouri with no antenna restrictions. His current station consists of a 120 foot
Rohn 45 tower with a Force 12 Magnum 520/340Z, a Cushcraft A3WS and
miscellaneous dipoles.

Having always been interested in DX and contesting, particularly in the pursuit
of new prefixes for WPX, John still collects real QSLs, operates 99% CW and
replies 100% direct or via the bureau. Yes, he does occasionally pick up the
microphone!

Join us on Friday, August 25th at 7 PM for this “don’t miss” presentation in The
Clinical Learning Institute of Missouri Baptist Hospital….rooms 419-420 of the
Goldfarb School of Nursing.

Hope to see everyone there.
